A mousepad you designed yourself does two jobs at once: it gives your mouse a smooth, consistent surface to track on, and it turns a generic desk into your setup. Upload a photo, your own artwork, a character render, a team logo, or a handle, and dye-sublimation printing bonds it into the fabric across the full surface in rich, fade-resistant colour. Because the ink sits inside the fabric rather than on top, the print will not crack or peel where your wrist rests.
Underneath, a rubber base grips the desk so the mat stays put through fast flicks and hard swipes, while the polyester top gives a smooth, even glide for optical and laser mice. Light spills can be wiped from the polyester surface. However, liquid may reach the rubber base and make it wet. Simply wipe the mat and allow the base to dry completely. Getting the base wet will not affect the quality of the material. You can order a single mat — there is no minimum, so a one-off custom gaming mousepad for your own desk is as easy to order as a full set.
Three Sizes, From Mouse Mat to Full Desk Mat
The right size depends on how much of your desk you want covered, and how far you sweep the mouse at low DPI. All three options provide more room than a regular mousepad, while the XL and Mega sizes can also function as gaming desk mats:
- Medium Desk Mat — 11 × 23 inches (27.94 × 58.42 cm). A standard mouse mat with room for wide movement. Suits a compact desk, or a setup where the keyboard sits on the bare desk.
- XL Gaming Mat — 15 × 30 inches (38.1 × 76.2 cm). A large mouse pad that takes both keyboard and mouse, so your hands work on one continuous surface. This is the size most people mean by an extended mouse pad or XL gaming mouse pad.
- Mega Desk Mat — 36 × 48 inches (91.44 × 121.92 cm). A full-desk mat that covers the whole working area, protecting the desk surface underneath and giving the largest possible print area for your design.
If you play at low sensitivity and sweep the mouse a long way, size up — a long mouse pad prevents you running out of surface mid-flick. For a gaming mousepad that can accommodate both your keyboard and mouse, consider the XL or Mega size.
